Vertebral
Fracture Analysis (VFA) also known as Instant Vertebral Assessment (IVA),
is recognized as the standard in fracture
risk assessment in combination with BMD.
High Definition Instant Vertebral
Assessment (IVA-HD) allows spine fractures
to be identified with one rapid (15sec), low dose, single
energy image at double the resolution of previously available
techniques. |
 |
Our Hologic Discovery A Bone Densitometer
provides improved image resolution and diagnostic sensitivity
(note that as with all x-ray devices weight and body habitus
affect sensitivity).
Exclusive rotating C-arm capability affords maximised patient
comfort and efficient information by allowing the patient to
remain in a comfortable supine position for the entire range of
bone density procedures including VFA.
Computer Assisted Vertebral Analysis can
quantify the degree of vertebral compression and
simplifies interpretation for referring practitioners, so that
treatment assessment and therapy eligibility can be easily
identified.
DEXA combined with VFA is now regarded as the new standard for
patient evaluation.
And the best part? At the OSCER Centre we perform a VFA on
request on any patients referred to us for Bone Density DEXA examinations
at no additional cost.
